The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Is #1 In May US Software Chart, Sells Most on PlayStation 4



The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt leads software chart in the United States, according to May NPD Group charts. CD Projekt RED title was the #1 last month and sold more on PlayStation 4 than on the other platforms where it is available, PC and Xbox One (same as #3 GTA V).

Overall, total industry retail sales in the United States were $507.6 million, according to the NPD. Comparing this to May 2014, it's down 13%. Looking at the individual categories, hardware was at $153.6 million in May (down 18%), while software was at $204.7 million (down 25%).

Any surprises to you? Based on our 10/10 review, it was almost obvious The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was about to claim the #1 spot in May.
