Recently, CD Projekt Red released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Patch 1.04 for PlayStation 4. It carried fixes for numerous issues and bugs in the game and also improved the performance of the game on Sony's console, especially in FPS. Was there really an improvement? Our friend at Digital Foundry compared The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Patch 1.04 vs Patch 1.03 FPS performance and discovered that there are just some minor improvements and nothing extraordinary.
Some performance enhancements - particularly in cut-scenes - were mentioned during the patch notes for The Witcher 3 patch 1.04, but to be honest aside from some very minor changes, we're not seeing much in the way of differences from the last version.
In their tech analysis report, Digital Foundry stated that those big drops down to 20FPS still exists, however there are some marginal improvements during cut-scenes however it doesn't fundamentally impact the experience in any truly noticeable way.
