The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Players Shares Massive List Of Improvements They Want To See In Inventory, Is CDPR Listening? CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best action RPG ever made. Gameplay mechanics, Graphics, Characters, almost every aspect of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is very well received by critics and gaming community.
However not everything is perfect. In a thread on Reddit, the Witcher series fans have let their frustration known to CD Projekt Red related to the working of "Inventory". Additionally, The Witcher series fans has created a Massive List of Improvements They Want To See In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Inventory.
New tab for Books & Letters & Notes
Different tabs for crafting & alchemy stuff (they don't belong together)
A sort function with multiple options (weight, sell price, quality, level req., name, etc.)
A way to fav/trash items; a small symbol could appear in the bottom cornors (PS4 - click left stick to Fav an item* / click right stick to designate an item to sell/dismantle once you get to a shop "americandigest.org/trashcan.jpg" a feature from the borderlands games that was very helpful.
Merchants need a buy back feature at the price it was sold at
Dismantling is hoard! why is everything in the inventory suddenly grouped together in the dismantling menu, please give us the tabs back here!
Perhaps add an 'E' in a top corner of all equipable items, i'm tired of looking for potions but mixing them up for ghoul blood. an at-the-glace sign would be great.
Please give inn keepers stashes like in the two previous games, or maybe a 'Travelers Storage chest' at all inns so we don't have to talk to someone to access out stuff. there's stuff i want to keep(witcher gear) but don't want to keep with me at all times!
please make a way of showing what gwent cards we have in the inventory perhaps in there own tab so that we don't accedently buy cards we already own. having to pause the game and open the gwent menu is kinda a hassle just to check which cards we own.
The following list of improvements were mention in the comment section of a thread on Reddit: "CDPR - Please say that you will update the inventory"
There should be completely separate window under the inventory for already created bombs/oils/potions, so we can swap between them without looking through the rest of eq.
Being able to stash items at the inn again would be great too.
I suggested an in-game bookshelf UI, where it would show every book in the game greyed out until you've looted it. This interface could be tied to a Librarian NPC in Novigrad. Books in this UI would take up no space, and the tooltip would show "Already in collection" whenever you loot a book, or see one for sale at a vendor that you already own, this would allow you to easily discard duplicates and quickly identify books you're missing.
It'd be awesome to know how many of an item you already have from the shop page
Mark the books whether they are read / unread in some way.
let me sell my equipped items in the shop menu, it's a pain in the ass having to quit the conversation with the merchant, then unequip my item, then talk to him again, then sell the item.
Let me copy paste what's wrong with the ui in general
Have to switch between signs instead of automatically casting them with a hotkey
One of the worst and clunkiest item wheels i've ever seen that you have to use to access your items because hotkeys are hard
Holding a key and releasing it to shoot a crossbow/bombs instead of just being able to equip it like swords
Inventory box could be twice the size but instead half of the screen is empty space
Lack of any kind of filters for anything, especially alchemy and crafting and the game doesn't even remember what categories did you expand or not so you have to go through the whole list every single time
Give oil limited amount of charges but the player can re-apply it during combat how many times he wants anyway, except he has to go through the slow assass menu every time to do it. of course when you make the system so retarded in the first place, don't forget to forbid the player to put the oil in a "quick" items slot (if you can even call the wheel quick). of course they couldn't either just make the oil have unlimited charges (you have unlimited amount after you craft it anyway), or, you know, have a fucking hotkey for it
Menu navigation in general, have to hit escape 3 times to leave a shop window and then say goodbye to merchant instead of just once, include some kind of weird menu with all inventory categories that is literally never useful but adds another escape button to leave the menu, at least here you can use hotkeys for quick opening/closing menus
Can only have 1 quest activate at the time, of course no filters like sorting by time you received it, by level, location, name etc. when you complete the quest it defaults to the main storyline which you very likely don't want to do when you finish a side quest.
It would be really, really, really cool if blacksmiths actually sold their own weapons and armor instead of recycling what you sold to them.
Fix the bug when you sort items from a scroll wheel to a single page, you can't scroll up to see the items.
Icons in the repair screen showing which items are currently equipped
tooltips when hovering mouse over the items you'll receive upon dismantling stuff, so you know what those base materials will be useful for
Please a new tab solely for consumables would make me so happy. I'm at the point where I have around ten potions and ten concoctions and probably another ten oils, it's ridiculous to have them mixed in with books
An option to show on map where you picked the book.
Indicator that shows that you already read the book.
Option to show big map of cave, inside area, not just world map
Armor/Sword Crafting schematics should be automatically ordered by level requirement of the item created.
Weapons stats while looking at them whilst looting, instead of having to pick them up then go into your inventory to view.
Extending the amount of inventory space you can see would be really nice also. The entire bottom half of the screen below the inventory is unused space and could easily be expanded to include another 5 or so rows.
A way to equip items while in the store screen. Save me from having to exit the screen, equip the item, then get back to the screen to sell/dismantle the previously equipped item (a pattern I've been doing over and over).
Some junk items have descriptions that claim that the item can be dismantled, but they can't be. Off the top of my head, I recall seeing a gold ring of some kind that was like this.
When talking to herbalists, you can switch between the shop and alchemy menus instantly. This is great. I'd like to see all shops able to switch to this interface, since many normal merchants also sell alchemy stuff. I'd also like to see the crafting menu accessible (but not usable, of course) so that I can check if I have all the items I need (which often requires switching between the shop and the crafting screen).
Some markers are not permanently shown on the map, for some reason. There's an armourer in Novigrad and I don't have a marker for him. I ended up running around the city until I found him. Tons of other stores in Novigrad suffer from this problem.
There's no easy way to filter to a specific map marker. You have to turn off every other marker one by one, then them all back on one by one once done. Ideally there'd be a way to simply see all markers on one kind with a single button.
