Electronic Arts has announced that FIFA 16 will include, for the first time ever in the soccer series, women's national teams and players. This year's iteration will feature new body types, animations and hair movement, with twelve national teams available from day one.
Those teams are Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and USA. Among the players, EA has confirmed famous players like Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan will be part of the show.
Women's national teams will be available in the following modes: Kick Off, Offline Tournament, Online Friendly Matches. Sadly enough, you won't be able to manage those teams in your personal Career Mode, it seems.
Furthermore, Electronic Arts has already announced FIFA 16's release date will be fixed on September 22 for North America and September 24 for Europe. This year's announcement comes a bit earlier than usual, since for the latest episodes it has been delivered in time for Gamescom.
In August, then, we'll likely witness the release of a demo version. Right below you can see the first trailer released for the sports game, which is obviously focused on this new entries, and a few screenshots concentrating on the most famous women in soccer.
